Thursday, 10th July

A visit to the park´s supermarket and buy some fresh bread. That is the first thing I do this morning. And breakfast of course!

Having finished our breakfast we head of into the direction of "Plage de la Grande Concue". Today we have planned a visit to the local tropical aquarium exhibition. By the time we get there the temperature is already soaring to a 35° again.

The aquarium is situated right behind the beach and between the apartment buildings. It is not really big, but it is interesting and quite beautiful. Included in the exhibition are fish that actually live here in the Mediterranean. Some of its more impressive features are a large sea turtle and a couple of white tip sharks. Also there are tanks with coral fish with magnificent colours.

Heading back to the apartment we follow the "Rue de Flanerie" and walk along the ports quay.

A visit to a local aquarium and a walk alongside the quay. That is it? That´s all? What a day of suspense you´ll think. Well, the exiting part still has to come.

The animation team has organised a foxhunt for this evening. I can hardly wait, I am so exited. But then I learn that it is for kids only. Bummer! I am degraded to the ranks of spectator. Now I have to force myself to sit along side the path and drink beer. I am so disappointed. Yooh waiter, a beer please! Oh what the hell, make it two and a shot, mate! I have to water down my disappointment.

On the park members of the animation team are walking around depicting characters like an ape or a nurse, and a few other clearly recognisable characters. The children need to collect the autographs of all these characters. The winner has them all! But there is a catch! The policeman.

The captain of the animation team is riding through the park on a bike wearing a police cap, holding a water gun and squirting water at the participating kids. If you are hit, you loose all the autographs collected so far and you need to start all over again. Did I mention the noise of screaming kids and the loud whistling of the police flute? Oh well, the kids have an awful lot of fun.

In addition to the foxhunt tonight we have another session at "Charlies", the park discotheek. This is definitely the place to be according to the boys. Everyone will be there, you see! If they don´t attend they will be missed. And we can´t have that can we?

"Charlies" is under supervision from the animation team and no alcoholic beverages are served here. During the night there are also some people present from a local security agency that will keep watch over the park, its entrance and its parking area. Next to that they also keep a watchfull eye out on what is going on at "Charlies". Just to be safe!

At eleven I go and pick up the boys after which we all have a late night drink. Then we turn in for the night.
