By itself there are not that many interesting things to do or to see. And I myself am not that much of a sunbathing and swimming pool enjoying individual. For me the main attraction is the crystal clear ocean in the south of the island. Before we left I had already made up my mind about getting my scuba diving license.
Part 1
Wednesday, August 22th.
This year our holiday is going to be slightly different from previous ones. We will be traveling by airplane to start with, and not by car. The destination is the island of Gran Canaria,......Thursday, August 23th
A brand new day has arrived, and after having enjoyed our breakfast first and a walk around town second, we are being picked up by a bus that brings us to the beach area. We have been brought to one of the landmarks...... Part 2
Friday, August 24th.
Today is going to be an adventures day. A day off discoveries so to speak. Today is the first day off my scuba diving training. I have a quick breakfast and pick up my lunch pack....... Part 3
Saturday, august 25th.
Today is dolphin day! After a good English breakfast with bacon, eggs and baked beans my son and I are picked up by the bus that transports us to the port of Puerto Rico. It is from this port that we will set out....... Part 4
Sunday, august 26th.
Again it is a beautiful morning, the sun is already shining bright and you can feel the temperature rising. Today is day 2 off my PADI adventure and I am looking forward to the experience. But first things first....... Part 5
Monday, august 27th.
Today is day 3 off my PADI adventure. The morning ritual is pretty much the same as before, so I won’t bother you with that anymore. Arrived at the dive base I learn that this morning I will be diving from the boat this time....... Part 6
Tuesday, august 28th
Early this week we have booked a tour around the island by bus. After having enjoyed our breakfast we all gather at the front desk and wait for the arrival....... Part 7
Wednesday, august 29th
Today I will take my exam for my PADI license. I have been studying the PADI book all week to make sure I fully understand the theoretical side off the whole thing....... Part 8
The rest of the holiday..
Throughout this whole journal I have hardly mentioned the hotel where we stayed. In this section I will. During our visit to Gran Canaria we stayed in the hotel Eugena Victoria, and I quite enjoyed our stay.......
